College Student Printer A++
All I have to say is that I enjoy this printer. As a college student, I do need to print out many notes and documents as well as assignments for class and let me tell you this printer comes in very handy. The main reason I bought this printer is because of the ability to print many documents efficiently and economically. A toner cartridge can last me a semester or two (depending how many classes I have taken and documents needed to be printed) from all the notes that I have been able to print so far. I also got this printer because I don't need color ink.

Not only does it have the ability to print as many documents as I want, it also has the ability to scan and copy documents as well. I would say that this is one on the best deals out there. This is so much more easier to print, scan, or copy at home using my computer rather than running over to school to do so. This has really made my life a lot easier.

Think twice.
Electronics are always a gamble. Usually they work fine, sometimes they just don't, right out of the box. So with electronics, it's smart to check the warranty. You probably won't need it, but you might. I needed it.
This printer (purchased directly from Dell) was easy enough to set up. Wireless connection was made quickly. But it never printed properly. Draft quality at best and that only on the left side of a page. I tried all possible software adjustments to no avail and then called Dell. They sent a new toner which made no difference. Now they are going to send a refurbished printer. Not new... refurbished. I PAID for new, but the warranty (go ahead... drill down into Dell's website and you'll be able to read it for yourself) only requires Dell to offer a refurbished unit. So now I have to pack up the replacement toner unit, and the new but useless printer, send them back and hope the refurbished unit works for a while.

Would be great if if could maintain a wifi connection...but it won't

The printer has great specs and features for the price--particularly wifi connectivity and airprint. That said, those are both absolutely worthless due to the fact that the printer won't stay connected to the network. Print quality is fine, scans are good, the printer software works acceptably well, but what's the point of a wireless printer if I have to go unplug it from the wall and let it reboot before I can print to it? Even on a reserved local IP address, it still can't stay connected. Everything else on the network (home server, smart tv, multiple iPads and iPhones, an android tablet, a WDTV box, etc.) works exactly like it should--but the stupid printer loses it's connection daily.

Dell Support has been just as unhelpful as its reputation would suggest. Brother printers only from now on.
