REALLY nice multipurpose printer

Haven't had too long yet, but I love this printer so far! We have a small office but print a lot of stuff. This has been easy to set up on the network. It is really fast, in both color and black & white, and has good quality. Scanning and copying is easy. Duplex feature is nice too. We keep discovering new, handy features. If the ink usage and cost ends up being close to what is promised we will be so glad we purchased this machine.

Outstanding printer when correctly calibrated!
A number of reviews indicated that people were disappointed with the print quality of this printer. Let me say clearly that the print quality is outstanding. Print quality is not as good as a high end Epson or Canon professional photo printer but the print quality can come close, and the speed of the printing in combination with the quality is a real sell. I am a very fussy person and I can tell you that the print quality is exceptional.

The real key in using this printer is to make sure you are using HP ColorLok paper. Other high quality paper can also be used. Paying attention to paper type is really important in getting sharp prints with good color. Another really important thing to mention is that no printer will print to its fullest capability unless you are using printer profiles which are calibrated specifically for the printer and the exact paper you are using. a lot of performance for the $
As a small, private school, we needed a capable printer and copier for our teachers and admin. We needed something that was dead-simple to use for volunteers to complete small print/copy jobs but was also fast enough for the 600-1000 page copy jobs we run from time to time. Needed full duplex, scanning and the occasional color print. Wireless is a must.
This HP seems to fit the bill through the first 2 weeks of use.

Pros
- touch screen was easy enough to use that we haven't had to teach anyone how to operate the machine
- the 40-50+ pages per minute is great and really cuts down the time required for the bigger print jobs
- easily printed .pdf and .jpg from Andriod phone (and an iPad completed an AirPrint). this was a nice surprise.
- the projected B&W ink usage of 9,000 pages nice for minimizing maintenance and reducing the cost per page to laser-printer levels.
