This is a sweet spot for the Canon PIXMA line with a lot of bang for the buck. This is the new replacement for MG6220, only available since December 2012.

Note that the MG7120 is the replacement for the MG6320, NOT the MG6420. The MG6420 doesn't have the gray ink tank of the MG6320/MG7120. The MG6420 can't print to CDs/DVDs like the MG6320/MG7120/MG5420 can. The MG6420 has 110% slower 4x6 photo printing, has significantly slower copying, and lower color print and scanning resolution than the MG6320/MG7120/MG5420 (Note that most folks won't notice/need the lower color print or scanning resolutions).

Great printer....BE AWARE OF AMAZON'S "FREQUENTLY BOUGHT TOGETHER" ..THESE ARE NOT THE CORRECT CARTRIDGES.

I give the printer 5 stars because the pictures printed are beautiful. I have owned many printers over the years and this one blew me away. I totally recommend this printer. I do want to make mention that the ink cartridges "fequently bought together" are not the correct cartridges. I purchased these because of the recommendation and had to return.

Made a great gift
I bought this for my mom, a wonderful lady on the other side of 60. She loves taking pictures and prefers a printed photo over an online version.

Any time I buy a gift involving technology for my parents, it is a crap shoot as to whether it will ever get used. I was so pleased that she came over with a whole stack of photos she printed when she got home from vacation. She loves the quality and is really happy she is not going to the drugstore for prints anymore.

In addition to the ink it came with, we bought her a full replacement set of XL cartridges and a box of 400 sheets of photo paper. Altogether, they cost more than the printer.

I was amazed at the speed of each print, although the start up time seems a little long. If I were in a spy movie and snuck into enemy headquarters and had to print the evidence before the guard found me, this would not be the printer I would want to wait to power on.
