Simply The Best Way To Get 4x6 Prints At Home!
Pros: Prints decent photos from high-resolution images; its prints are relatively inexpensive and indestructible.
Cons: Can't view photos directly on printer; prints fall out of paper output tray when left unattended; noisy; doesn't run off batteries; low-resolution pictures become inferior prints.
Summary: I just purchased the Sony DPP-EX5 earlier this week. I am absolutly amazed! I have been using an Epson Stylus Photo 820 inkjet printer. That printer does produce very nice photos, however, I kept running into problems with ink clogs, poor edges in borderless photos, and the speed of the printer. So, knowing that all I ever print at home for photos is 4x6 prints, I decided to give the Sony a try. I am glad I did! Dye-sublimation produces much better and longer lasting prints. I have made many comparison prints from the Epson and the Sony. Hands down the Sony wins. And that is saying a lot considering Epson's reputation for making good photo printers. I still have the Epson...

Excellent printer

I used to be a die hard HP fan, I never worried about the price of ink cartages, I wanted quality. I read about Sub-Dye printing and found out it is far superior to than ink printing. I went out and bout the printer for $200.00. One print cartridge comes with 25 sheets and all the dye ribbon. When you finish up the 25 pics you toss the whole thing and inset a new one. I never have to worry about ink drying up or running out in the middle of a project. The price per pic is very low and the quality beats any ink printer on the market. There is no difference between a photo devolved at Kodak or the one I can print.
This is the mother of all printers.

Great but for money!!

This is a great little printer for the money.... I couldn't believe my eyes when I first found it. The pictures come out on a standerd 4x6 print paper. The paper is slightly expensive and price per print is slighly higher compared to going in and just ordering prints from another place (like kodak print center). I figured about 0.57$ compared to 0.09$. The benefit is that you can make sure that your prints actually turn out so you have close to a 100% success print rate. I know what I'm getting and I'm getting it right away... no waiting a week for the stuff to show up in the mail. The one draw back I found is that the colors sometimes come out over corrected but I just need to find a way through the drive to stop that from happening... Reds come out overwhelming and whites are sometimes blinding.
