Manhattan Review
for about 6 of the months I was pregnant, I stopped people on the street who were pushing strollers and asked what they thought of theirs. Most people loved their strollers. But I heard a couple of common themes. The Stokke people occasionally thought it was awkward and they admitted they loved it for the design more than the practicality. The Bugaboo Bee folks thought it was actually too low and too small and they're not sure what it offered over an umbrella stroller.
The Uppababy Vista people were the happiest of the people I asked. The all LOVED the storage space underneath. Funny what people point to as the real winner. The ones with a baby and a toddler loved how it converted to hold two kids.
If you're in Manhattan, that's mostly the 3 strollers that you'll see. You'll also see lots of City Mini/Elite/Select strollers, but those are often secondary strollers.

A Two-Year Review
Like a lot of parents, my wife and I shopped around and test-drove a few strollers before settling on the Vista. It's sturdy, safe and attractive. We're very happy with it, and it has held up two years later to be ready to rock for a second baby due to arrive in a few months.
The size. It's a larger stroller with a fairly big footprint. I would recommend you own at least a small SUV before pulling the trigger on this baby. For us the size has proven a convenience, as we like to walk to restaurants and stores. The undercarriage allows for 2-3 bags of groceries, not to mention all the gear you might need for a day's outing. For travel, we have a smaller stroller. I've seen reviewers knock this stroller for it's size. I liken this to knocking an SUV for not being a Corolla, but I digress. Before you purchase this stroller, I recommend you play with it in the flesh.

Caution, safety concerns
I'm a NYC mom and up until now I enjoyed the Uppa Baby Vista. However all that changed recently when while pushing my 2 year old daughter, the stroller suddenly collapsed...with her in it. I'm still in shock as to how this happened, especially to the Uppa Baby. While clinging to my crying child, I could see that the welding on the bar (next to the LHS back wheel) that connected the two sides, had snapped clear off. My Uppa Baby Vista basically did the splits, while my child was in it. Thankfully we had not yet crossed the busy intersection that we were approaching. Those around me were in disbelief, and thankfully I was offered assistance in returning to our apartment as it would have been impossible for me to carry the mess of the stroller and my daughter. Most thankfully my daughter was not injured, however it could have been worse.
