Chockfull of Features
I've put an embarrassing amount of time into researching the right lightweight stroller that met the needs of my family. Ultimately, I feel that the Joovy Groove Ultralight is the best in terms of price versus features.
The well-padded seat is nice and deep. I'm a fan of the adjustable footrest because it means my stubby 9 month old can sit comfortably without her legs dangling awkwardly. The 149 degree recline capability is reminiscent of our Britax B-Agile and the seat buckles latch and unlatch more smoothly than the B-Agile's. There are small, reflective triangles sewn on the sides of the seat plus collapsable, mesh cup holders on the inner sides of the seat.
I'm 5'0" and I find the height of the handles to be comfortable. The stroller is extremely easy to maneuver and push. Our Britax stroller organizer fits perfectly on the Joovy Groove Ultralight; however, I haven't kept the organizer attached while folding and unfolding. There is a mesh cup holder and...
Best lightweight umbrella stroller with full features
I thoroughly researched umbrella strollers...and didn't want to spend too much. However- the cheapest dependable options had no storage in the back...and I at least wanted to be able to stash a small purse or diaper bag. I loved the Chicco liteway- it had all the features and was significantly less expensive. However that chicco has a strap that is too tight between the legs for babies over 9 months (you'll see this reflected in reviews). I didn't listen- bought it and then returned it.
Back to the drawing board...I realized I'd need to go up in price to get what I wanted. In the ultralight cateogory I narrowed it down to the Uppababy G-luxe (better than the less expensive uppababy because the G-luxe reclines) and this new Joovy Ultralight Groove. Both have comparable features...i slightly preferred the Joovy as the G-luxe has two layers of material on the seat which sort of stuck out a bit and seemed a little mishapen (just a visual thing). Should have upgraded sooner
My old Uppa G-Lite finally broke down completely, and I decided to get a slightly heavier stroller with more features. This stroller is definitely great value for the price. I am using it for my 2 year old, but it is big enough to fit my four year old.
Weight: This is supposed to be ~12 pounds, but I don't notice that it is any heavier than the G-Lite (9 lbs). It is light enough that I can easily lift it into the trunk of my car and carry it up steps.
Construction: This Joovy is significantly more 'solid' looking than the G-Lite. The individual frame pieces are just wider. Its frame are square pieces, not circular, so I wonder if this is why the individual parts are wider.
Storage: The storage on this is great. It has a very nice underbasket that is plenty big enough to carry diapers and other supplies. When the seat is in full recline, you can't really reach the storage, however. There is also a small zipper compartment and drink stand inside the...
