Difficult out of the box, but worth the trouble

I bought the 760 after looking long and hard for a new printer that could make my digital photos look like real photos. Out of the box the printer balked at first -- FOLLOW THE SETUP INSTRUCTIONS PERFECTLY! I also considered the Photosmart 1100, but I didn't need an on-board card reader. The photo capabilities of the 760 are impressive. We can't tell the difference between the inkjet photos and the photoshop prints.

can print nice pictures... when it works

I bought an Epson 760 with very high expecations, almost 2 months ago. I'm replacing it with an HP. The Epson 760 can print very nice photos, but I've found the software and the documentation too unreliable. The pretty pictures are not worth the hassles.
